Introduction to the Kalachakra Mandala

In this three-day teaching cycle, you will be introduced to Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen’s short text “Praises to Glorious Kalachakra: A Summarised Approach to the Sadhana.” This text provides a skilful means to familiarise yourself with the various deities of the body, speech, mind and primordial wisdom mandalas of the Glorious Kalachakra Tantra. It is ideal as a preliminary for practitioner’s who aspire to engage with the more extensive Kalachakra sadhanas. The teachings will follow Dolpopa’s auto-commentary which clarifies the meaning of each deity and how they each uniquely express the primordial purity of buddha-nature.

SPONSORSHIP GOAL FOR ALL TEACHINGS: 2250 € + Dana

1.500€ of 2.250€ raised

In order to make this offering to the community, we request the financial support of sponsors who are willing to contribute to the costs of providing food and board for up to 30 participants. To reach this goal, we estimate we will need to raise a total amount of 2250 €. This corresponds to approximately 75 € per person for the full duration of the teachings (3 nights stay in dorms with full-board).

Our generosity-based model depends on your support to create the conditions for us to hold events and offer them freely to others. Any donations that we receive above the requested sponsorship goal will be donated to the Suchandra Annual Fund as support for future events, community projects and general organizational costs. Like this, we encourage you to give whatever you can so that we can continue to make the Dharma accessible to all.

DANA

As a way to show our appreciation to the teacher for offering his time and energy to share the profound Dharma with us, there will be an opportunity at the end of the retreat for individuals to practice generosity and express their gratitude in the form of a personal financial offering. You can also contribute to his work by making an online donation here:

Ordained Sangha Fund

Our ordained sangha members serve the community by guiding practice groups, leading our volunteer staff and supporting the spiritual development of our members. With your generosity, we will be able to provide for all of the necessary costs such as food, shelter, health insurance, social insurance and other recurring monthly expenses.

It is our aspiration to be able to fully support one ordained sangha member for the next year. We estimate that we will need 12000€ to achieve this aim. If you are able to give, please support this fund.

WHO CAN ATTEND

These teachings are offered freely to all those who sincerely wish to practice Kalachakra and who have received a Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra Empowerment from a qualified Vajra Master such as HH the Dalai Lama or HE Khentrul Rinpoché.

ONLINE ACCESS

For those who are unable to attend the event in person, we will be offering a live video stream of the event. However, in order for this stream to be created, we still need to raise enough money to reach our sponsorship goal and actually hold the event. Therefore, even if you will not be joining us in person, please contribute to the sponsorship above so that we can be sure the event will manifest.

REGISTRATION

Spaces at the retreat centre are limited and will therefore be awarded in chronological order of registration. Any additional registrations received above our maximum capacity will be placed on a wait list. Out of respect for other people who wish to participate, if you register and then are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can give your space to the next person on the list. Failure to give proper notice and not showing up to the event will affect your ability to participate in future events. Please be considerate to others who wish to attend.

All participants, whether in person or online must register below to indicate that they will be attending. Those registered for the online teachings will be sent further information and links via email as we approach the date of the event.
